Over 7 lakh voters removed, 10.78 lakh added in final voter list for Bengal 2025
The Howrah City Police arrested two men for misbehaving with women passengers on a bus plying the Dharamtala-Santragachi route. The incident occurred on Friday when two male passengers began harassing female commuters onboard.
Unable to tolerate the behavior, one of the women dialed 100 and reported the situation to the police. The Howrah City Police promptly responded, intercepting the bus at the toll plaza of the second Hooghly Bridge. The accused men were arrested on the spot and taken to Shivpur Police Station.
The timely intervention of the police not only ensured the safety of the passengers but also showcased the effectiveness of the helpline system. Upon the arrest, the accused were booked for their inappropriate behavior, and further investigations are underway to determine the charges.
Families of the female passengers also lauded the Shibpur police team for their support and professionalism in handling the situation.
